4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The precise instant the Buccaneers landed Tom Brady in free agency they became the NFL’s poster child for teams interested in winning now. It’s easy to envision Tampa Bay making quite a few moves around the draft to bolster their chances of winning a Super Bowl next season.

That makes the Buccaneers an interesting candidate to move up or down in Round 1. They might believe they can find a rookie capable of contributing immediately at No. 14, but their odds would certainly increase by moving up into the top 10.

On the other hand, the Buccaneers could elect to swap their draft capital for veterans who are a better fit with Brady’s relatively short window for title contention. Giving their veteran quarterback more help on the offensive line could be a particularly shrewd strategy by Tampa Bay.

The takeaway point here is that the Buccaneers aren’t going to sit still. Signing Brady was a clear signal that they’re willing to go all in to win now. Standing pat at No. 14 just doesn’t fit with that franchise directive. Watch Tampa Bay closely as the draft approaches.
