1. Mike Leach, Mississippi State

You just knew he was going to end up on this list, didn’t you?

From cooling off his coffee in the middle of Mark Dantonio answering a question before the Holiday Bowl to his comments about dating, disco and food preferences, Leach has some of college football’s most memorable quotes in history not regarding anything to football. Just check out his Twitter account.

Leach is one of the few college football coaches that all fans, regardless of what team they owe their allegiances to, never want to leave the game. From notably stating that he sleeps with a Viking ax next to his bed that doubles as a climbing-grappling hook, Leach has captured the attention of fans by coaching one of the most fun offensive styles in the game, as well as by taking an easy-natured, sometimes-confusing approach to press conferences and interactions outside of the game.

Coach Leach has also memorably offered his opinions on mascot battles, Halloween candy and mint juleps—and if interviews about football can somehow lead to these topics, just imagine how fun your conversations could get while you’re on “Lockdown with Leach”—a title which in and of itself sounds like a television show.

All that aside, Leach is also clearly a huge football guy and uses some of college football’s most fun offense, play-calling and terminology as well.

You’d never be bored with our No. 1 quarantine partner—and he makes an easy choice to top our list.
