Los Angeles Chargers full 2020 Mock NFL Draft
Third Round
Whether it’s Tyrod Taylor or a rookie under center for the Chargers in 2020, the team will have to focus on their protection. The Bolts currently have Sam Tevi and Bryan Bulaga on the depth chart as the starting tackles, but Georgia’s Isaiah Wilson is likely an improvement over Tevi.
Wilson has great size at 6-foot-6 and 350 pounds. He’s best-suited for a right tackle role in the NFL. He redshirted in his first season in Athens, but came back the following year to earn Freshman All-American and All-SEC accolades after starting all 14 games for the Bulldogs. Last season, Wilson appeared in only 11 games after suffering an ankle injury, but still was named a Second-Team AP All-American.
Playing in the SEC, it was easy to see Wilson’s improvement throughout his college career. There are inconsistencies of course, but he seemingly got better as each season went on from game to game. His pass protection can use improvement, but he has the traits to take the proper steps in his development.
Chargers offensive line coach James Campen would have his chance to make a mark with his new team after coming over from the Packers.
