Fourth Round

Pick Analysis. Wyoming. player. 903. Scouting Report. LB. Logan Wilson. 112

It wouldn’t be surprising to see the Chargers select a linebacker earlier than the fourth round, but given so many other needs they may land one in the middle rounds. Wyoming’s Logan Wilson has the potential to develop into either an inside or strong side linebacker, while contributing on special teams up until that point.

Wilson was a three-year captain for Wyoming, after converting from playing defensive back and wide receiver in high school. He is a three-down player at MIKE or SAM and has a great football IQ. Wilson is instinctive and routinely finds himself in the position to make big plays. When he gets into those positions, Wilson is a sure tackler with strong fundamentals and a big range due to his quick diagnosis of plays.

The former Cowboy is strong in zone coverage, but has the abilities to play man in a pinch as well. That means he will likely have trouble cover a wide receiver or tight end with speed up the seam. Another knock is that once someone lands a block on Wilson, he has a lot of trouble shedding that. He will have to find a move to allow him to break free in the NFL.
