170. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. James Wiseman. player. 7-foot-1 | C. Memphis. 8

James Wiseman is probably the most polarizing player in the 2020 class. He ranks anywhere from the top-three to around 24th depending on whose board you’re looking at. League sources say he’s still high on most team boards, but he’s rarely in the top-10 on draft Twitter. The Charlotte Hornets should probably go best player available, but Wiseman may be too tempting if he slips this far.

At 7-foot-1 with around a 7-foot-6 wingspan, the 18-year-old projects as a rim-running pick-and-roll big. Right now he is very raw and some aren’t sure he’ll figure it out enough to justify a high selection, but rumor has it those in the league still like Wiseman. The NBA is going away from centers, so that’s why he’s down here, but don’t be surprised if he goes much earlier.
