Fantasy football 2020 NFC East depth charts and breakout players
By Bill Pivetz
QB: Dak Prescott
RBs: Ezekiel Elliott, Tony Pollard
WRs: Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup
TEs: Blake Jarwin
This offseason could have been a lot worse for the Cowboys if they weren’t able to bring back Cooper. He signed a five-year, $100 million dollar deal, giving Prescott his top target. The rushing game is on lock with Elliott in the backfield. This offense is going to put up points.
Prescott had his best season for the Cowboys last year. He posted his first 4,000-yard, 30-touchdown season, 4,900 yards, 30 touchdowns and 11 interceptions specifically. Regardless of what happens with his contract, he will be on the field this season. Prescott is at the back-end of the top quarterbacks and will cost a pretty penny.
Elliott had another good season, posting 1,357 yards and 12 touchdowns on 301 carries. It’s hard to see him consistently getting 300 carries and having a long career. But, for this season, it’s likely he’ll do it again. He’ll be drafted by the middle of the first round and rightfully so.
Cooper was targeted 119 times and caught 79 passes for 1,189 yards and eight touchdowns. The lack of other offensive weapons, he should reach those numbers again. Gallup is a good WR3 to target. He caught 66 passes for over 1,000 yards.
With Jason Witten gone, Jarwin becomes the top tight end and is my breakout player. He had 31 receptions for 365 yards and 3 touchdowns. Witten left 63 catches, 529 yards and 4 scores available. I think Jarwin gets the majority of them.
