Fantasy football 2020 NFC East depth charts and breakout players
By Bill Pivetz
QB: Daniel Jones
RBs: Saquon Barkley, Dion Lewis
WRs: Sterling Shepard, Golden Tate, Darius Slayton
TEs: Evan Engram, Levine Toilolo
The Giants made two big moves the offseason to help out the offense. They added a solid pass-catching running back in Lewis and backup tight end in Toilolo. Both will make a big impact for the Giants and fantasy football.
Jones had a good season but missed four games. With Eli Manning no longer there, the starting quarterback job is his. As long as the pass-catchers can stay healthy, Jones should be able to throw for close to 4,000 yards.
Barkley is another top-five running back in this division. He’s a lock for 1,000 yards, no question. The only thing fantasy owners have to worry about is how many touchdowns he’ll get. In his first year, Barkley scored 11 but that went down to six last season.
Shepard, Tate and Slayton all missed time last season. No one broke 60 catches for 800 yards. Slayton was the best option with 48 receptions, 740 yards and eight touchdowns. I wouldn’t want any of these receivers in my starting lineup. Tate and Shepard are good WR4s, maybe WR3s in PPR leagues.
Engram hasn’t played a full season since joining the league in 2017. It’s hard to draft a guy as a top-10 tight end when he doesn’t play all 16 games. That’s why it made sense for the front office to bring in Toilolo. While he hasn’t started a full season, he’s been available for all 16 games multiple times. I like Engram, I just don’t have him ranked as high as others do.
