4th round

125. player. 819. . EDGE. Fighting Irish . Khalid Kareem

It’s anyone’s guess how edge rushers will come off the board after the first round, and many among the group will require a fair amount of projection. Notre Dame’s Khalid Kareem only posted 13.0 total sacks in his career with the Fighting Irish but offers enough upside to warrant a selection here in the fourth round.

Kareem isn’t quite a quick-twitch athlete but offers outstanding power and technique in its place. With 34 and 3/8-inch arms, he has plenty of length and strength to hold his own on the edge of a defense. He’s an extremely instinctual player, which could be due in part to his father serving as a high school coach for many years.

The Patriots continue to find a need for edge rushers and Kareem will come into the building with a solid technical foundation that should help his development as a rotational player early in his career.
