Pick Analysis. AFC. player. 52. Scouting Report. South. Jacksonville Jaguars. 4

Though Shahid Khan seems to be a quality owner, no, it has not been a great last decade-plus for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This is an organization who plays at least one game annually over in London…willingly! Do you think Belichick will want to go London every single fall to play a football game in a soccer stadium? He’ll run out of WWII exhibits to check out in London by year two.

No, it’s not just the annual London game that will make it next to impossible for Belichick to thrive down in Duval. If Tom Coughlin screaming himself purple as the former executive vice president of football operations wasn’t going to work, then maybe nothing will? Coughlin’s second act in Jacksonville was about as embarrassing as the Jaguars’ former two-tone helmets. Just a bad look.

Instead of coaching up in parochial New England, Belichick will arrive in transient Florida to experience a massive culture shock: Not everybody is all-in on football as him. The Jaguar Way sounds more like a tourist trap where you pay a premium to wear a fanny pack and get sunburnt than it is a football way of life. No chance the players aren’t going to buy into what he’s saying.

People in their 60s go to Florida to retire, not change football cultures. If Belichick were 15 years younger, he could do the impossible and make the Jaguars what they were as an expansion team under Coughlin in the late 1990s. Unless he’s going to Miami to face the Dolphins once a year, it wouldn’t be a good idea to have Belichick coaching football in Florida at this stage of his career.
