NCAA basketball: Predicting where the top 10 college basketball transfers land
2. G Terrell Brown – Seattle to BYU
No one really thinks of Seattle as a basketball powerhouse, but they did produce one of the most coveted grad transfers in this year’s portal. That distinction goes to guard Terrell Brown, who was one of the most effective scorers for the Redhawks this season.
Brown averaged 20.7 points per game, 6.2 rebounds per game and 4.9 assists per game as a senior with Seattle. Scouts rave about Brown’s ability to be a high-major defender and his fearlessness, which could really be showcased on a bigger stage.
The one weakness that Brown has is his ability to shoot from deep which wouldn’t be a problem at BYU which is already loaded with 3-point shooters. The Cougars are also dealing with plenty of roster turnover as a result of graduation so there will be a lot of minutes for Brown to absorb.
Brown could use a star turn at BYU to turn himself into a potential draft pick next season, but he has enough potential to at least earn a spot in the G League. BYU could make Brown the focal point of the offense in 2020 so the fit is ideal for both sides.
