5th round

player. 895. . WR. Broncos . John Hightower. 159

Unless the Jets pull a shocker and select a wide receiver in the first round, they’re likely to fill in the position on days two and three. Boise State’s John Hightower has electric speed and would immediately slot into the Jets’ offense as a downfield threat to help replace the recently-departed Robby Anderson.

Hightower needs a lot of space to operate and definitely will struggle against physical press coverage but offers good value in the return game and as an asset to help take off the top of opposing defenses and open things up for Sam Darnold to operate underneath.

6th round

405. . RB. Broncos . Levante Bellamy. 192. player

You may not be familiar with Western Michigan’s football program but Levante Bellamy was quietly one of the most productive running backs in college football in 2019.

After scoring an eye-popping 23 touchdowns on the ground last season, Bellamy has cemented himself as a nice Day 3 pick. He’s undersized but in the right role, should serve as valuable depth for New York behind bellcow Le’Veon Bell.

Falcons . Zane Lewis. 212. player. 894. . CB

More depth for the Jets’ secondary as they scoop up Air Force’s Zane Lewis in the sixth round. Lewis had some excellent testing numbers at the Falcons’ Pro Day (one of the last that ended up happening before cancelations due to COVID-19) and could very well have played himself into the Day 3 conversation. He has excellent size and length (6-foot-1, 190 pounds) and returned his only career collegiate interception 99 yards for a touchdown.
