3. Tyrod Taylor has never been the answer

And he still isn’t, especially since he has just 91 passing attempts since the beginning of 2018. The Bills couldn’t wait to move on from him, even after he was the quarterback in the franchise’s first playoff season in almost 20 years in 2017.

Taylor will be 31 years old when the season starts. Sure, they can leave Taylor in and see what he has left in the tank. Speaking of tank, leaving Taylor in would probably just be more of a sign they are tanking for Trevor Lawrence but that’s another year with a talented roster wasted.

But Taylor’s best years are easily behind him. It’s not even a debate that Tagovailoa is better than Taylor. So are Burrow, Justin Herbert, Jalen Hurts, and Jordan Love. Taylor showed promise early in his career, but he’s made just 46 career starts in nine years, including just three in 2018 before he was benched for former first overall pick Baker Mayfield. And he hasn’t looked too great, either.

The jury is out on Taylor. There is no seeing what he has left. We know what he is at this point. Having him start Week One would be harmful to the Chargers.
