By Simon Vacca
Hockey Prospects 15-11
15. Jack Quinn, C/RW, Ottawa 67’s — OHL (5-foot-11, 176 pounds)
A forward who improves more and more with each passing game. Quinn’s shot is legitimate, his on-ice smarts are top-notch and his puck distribution is at times underrated. He plays in a diverse network of situations and should attract the attention of many in the NHL.
14. Rodion Amirov, LW, Salavat Yulaev Ufa — KHL (6-foot-0, 168 pounds)
A winger with a very strong ability to combine offensive prowess with defensive responsibility. He boasts a relatively expansive toolkit — the likes of which include decent skating, solid hands and a shot that opponents ought to respect. Amirov’s skill should not be understated.
13. Dawson Mercer, C/RW, Chicoutimi Saguenéens — QMJHL (6-foot-0, 179 pounds)
A talented forward who has been deployed — often successfully — in a vast array of scenarios. Mercer plays good hockey at both ends of the ice, frequently boasting some of the most noteworthy intelligence of the current class. Should be a lock for selection on day one of the draft.
12. Seth Jarvis, C/RW, Portland Winterhawks — WHL (5-foot-10, 172 pounds)
One of the go-to examples of a very good player in this year’s draft. Jarvis plays a fast game and has been utilized in difficult situations by the Portland Winterhawks. He competes hard and produces at an admirable level, offering a wide-ranging toolkit to NHL organizations.
11. Anton Lundell, C/LW, HIFK — Liiga (6-foot-1, 183 pounds)
At the central root of Lundell’s game is a recurring ability to marry offensive production and defensive effort. The Finnish forward is capable of scoring across a broad set of circumstances, while also placing team members in spots to succeed. Look for professional scouts to be quite high on this player.
