2. Eric Ebron will lead the team in catches

Ebron is a tight end that can only thrive in certain offensive systems. Fortunately, the Steelers are a great landing spot for the former Colts star.

He’s never going to dominate the opposition as an in-line blocker. Ebron can only provide a team value if they allow him to operate more in the slight as a type of jumbo slot receiver. His questionable hands can make him erratic in that spot, but his size and speed makes him a very dangerous weapon.

Look for Ebron to quickly develop a productive rapport with Roethlisberger. He’s just the sort of big-bodied receiver that can provide the veteran quarterback with a valuable pressure release. Quick throws to Ebron will quickly become a staple of this offense.

The challenge for Ebron is to prove that he’s reliable enough to take targets away from Vance McDonald. He’s certainly the more talented of the two tight ends, but he’s got to establish trust with his new teammates.

If he does, he’s got a solid chance to lead this team in catches. No one in Pittsburgh is going to go over 100 catches so 70 grabs might be enough for the talented tight end.
