Cornerback. Detroit Lions. Jeffrey Okudah. 3. player. 50.

The Detroit Lions finally traded away Darius Slay a couple of weeks back, as they look to turn the page from a cornerback who wanted out. In his place, the Lions went on to bring in Desmond Trufant, a solid corner in his own right who was released by the Atlanta Falcons this offseason.

While the addition of Trufant is a good one, the Lions cannot stop there, as they have to put together a secondary that can actually be competitive next season. Last year, the Lions had the worst pass defense in the game, and they can revamp the whole group by drafting Jeffrey Okudah from Ohio State at pick No. 3.

When it comes to this draft class, Okudah is by far the best cornerback prospect, and he could come in and be a shutdown guy at the next level right away. He has great cover skills, does not make any mistakes, and his addition would finally give the Lions a secondary that could possibly stop Aaron Rodgers twice a season.

. Linebacker/Safety. New York Giants. Isaiah Simmons. 4. player. 31

Last year, the New York Giants were once again one of the worst teams in football, and they have made wholesale changes on the coaching staff since the season ended. Joe Judge will get his first chance to be a head coach at the NFL level this season, taking over for Pat Shurmur, who had a terrible run in New York.

With pick No. 4, the Giants should look to add the best defensive player after Chase Young, bringing in an incredible hybrid in Isaiah Simmons from Clemson. This kid can do it all on the defensive side of the ball, and for the Giants, he could have the kind of impact Derwin James had in Los Angeles a few years back.

While the Giants could use help along the offensive line, Simmons may be too good a player to pass up here at No. 4. Of course, they also could be in the market to trade down, as Miami and Los Angeles will be looking to move up, so there will be a lot of eyes on Dave Gettleman come draft night later this month.
