1. Bill O’Brien will be fired

This shouldn’t be a bold prediction given O’Brien’s questionable track record as a coach and, especially, as a GM. It still is given just how much faith the franchise has put in him to mold the roster.

This offseason has still put immense pressure on O’Brien to prove that he’s the smartest guy in the room. If he wins without Hopkins then he’ll be able to say the trade was worthwhile. If the Texans fail to stay in playoff contention then ownership will feel compelled to give him his pink slip.

If Watson fails to play like an All-Pro for any stretch of time then O’Brien is going to get fired. That’s how small the margins are for this team. Don’t feel bad for O’Brien though, he’s made his bed and now it’s time for him to lie in it.

Next. Should the Patriots trade up for Tua?. dark

The only real question about O’Brien’s potential firing is when it will occur. The over/under should be placed somewhere around Week 12. That’s when it will become apparent that the Texans aren’t going to sneak into the postseason. That’s also when O’Brien’s draconian rule over the franchise should finally come to an end.
