1. Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders seem hell-bent on replacing Derek Carr when the time is right. Marcus Mariota was signed to back him up, and he can earn nice money if he has to step in. Carr doesn’t have a long-term future with the team, and if things break that way Mariota will be in line to land elsewhere in 2021 after being Ryan Tannehill 2.0.

The Raiders have two first-round picks, No. 12 and No. 19. They can go multiple ways with both picks and not be wrong. The best wide receiver available? The best defensive player on the board? And if there’s an opportunity, drafting a potential quarterback of the future will be an option early.

Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network has reported there’s a “good possibility” the Raiders take Love at No. 19 if he’s available. That latter point is of course the key “if”, and if Love is available at No. 12 they could very well just take him there. Consolidating the two picks to move up and get him is a third possible scenario, to make what looks like a great match happen.

For this year the Raiders are in a solid, if unspectacular, position with Carr and Mariota under center. That would also allow Love to sit and develop for a year while he learns Gruden’s offense verbiage, then be ready to take over in 2021.
