3. DT Larry Ogunjobi

He may be best known for his part in last year’s Thursday night fiasco when Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback Mason Rudolph and Browns’ defensive end Myles Garrett had quite the confrontation (and that’s being extremely polite). While the latter was suspended indefinitely (and then reinstated this offseason), defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi would miss one game for his role in the unfortunate situation.

This past season, he teamed inside with well-traveled Sheldon Richardson. The 2017 third-round pick from Charlotte has been remarkably consistent each of the past two seasons. The 6’3”, 305-pound performer finished with 50 stops and 5.5 sacks this past year, this after totaling 52 tackles and 5.5 quarterback traps in 2018.

It’s worth noting that via the staff of Pro Football Focus (subscription required), Ogunjobi was the team’s third-ranked interior defender behind Richardson and former Cincinnati Bengals’ defensive tackle Andrew Billings. And while the ability to pressure the passer up the middle is an asset, the three-year pro’s biggest issue is his struggle against the run. Could the 25-year-old performer take a step up when it comes to this aspect of his game? This was a Browns’ team that allowed the third-most rushing yards in the league this past season.
