Indianapolis Colts 2020 mock draft: Full 7 rounds
By Conor Dorney
There’s a decent chance this pick is one of the many talented wide receivers who could be available at this spot (Donovan Peoples-Jones, Michael Pittman Jr., Antonio Gandy-Golden are a few names to watch), but I’m not sure Indy could pass up the value of adding Appalachian State running back Darrynton Evans here in the fourth.
Evans is a smooth operator in the open field with dynamite speed and a solid frame to handle the physicality of three-down back responsibilities. One of Evans’ best traits is his decision-making, as there’s no such thing as second-guessing once he sees an open running lane. It’s plant, cut, go and reservations for six.
Marlon Mack is slated to hit free agency next season and the Colts will have to decide whether they want to devote long-term resources to the talented back or use that money to fill other needs. If the latter is true, Evans may be their guy in round four.
