Miami Hurricanes product Trajan Bandy could be a useful depth guy with the potential to contribute in the slot. The Saints have quality cornerbacks – with Marshon Lattimore leading the way – but they could always use more bodies at the position.

Bandy only ran a 4.50 40 at the NFL Combine, and since he’s only 5-foot-8, 180 pounds, he’s limited in where he can play at the next level. But on Day 3, the Saints will be simply looking for contributors, and Bandy’s ability to play a niche role in the slot helps in this regard.

Last season, Bandy was a playmaker in the ‘Canes defense, recording nine passes defended with three sacks. In the 2018 season, Bandy had three interceptions with eight passes defended and 4.5 tackles for loss.

Although Bandy can get burned and bullied by physical defensive backs, he has ideal slot traits, including his ability to record sacks. Bandy could be an asset as a blitzing nickel corner, and his agility and change-of-direction could make him adept at covering the swiftest of slot receivers.

Bandy’s physicality would also be beneficial in the slot, where aggressiveness is less likely to go punished and more likely to yield big plays. Those traits make up for his lack of size and could impress the Saints coaching staff.
