2nd round

Terrell Lewis. 36. player. 829. . EDGE/LB. Crimson Tide

Giants fans have been enamored with Clemson’s Isaiah Simmons. The hybrid safety/linebacker caught most of their eyes during the National Championship game when he was making plays all over the field.

Unless Gettleman uncharacteristically trades back in the first, it would not be wise to take Simmons at No. 4. Drafting your tackle and then finding edge rusher help in the second round is much wiser, which is why Terrell Lewis at No. 36 makes sense.

Lewis is 6-foot-5 and 262 pounds. He didn’t play much for Alabama during his sophomore year in 2017 due to injury, but he finished with six sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss last season. Both of those stats were top 10 in the SEC.

The reason Lewis is farther down on draft boards is because his college career was somewhat paused due to a substantial injury. He would be a much higher prospect, but he tore his ACL before the 2018 season.

Lewis can play, and he proved he still can be a force post-injury. These are the type of players that Gettleman should jump on. He has the potential to be a steal if he can fill into his frame and continue to gain strength after his injury.

Is drafting Lewis in the second round somewhat of a gamble? A little bit, but he bounced back strong in 2019.
