Watching Tom Hanks’ post-coronavirus Saturday Night Live monologue was exactly what we needed right now.

It felt like you could hear the entire hold their breath when news broke that Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson were diagnosed with COVID-19. On Saturday night you heard everyone release that breath as we got our first on-screen glimpse of America’s most beloved actor delivered the Saturday Night Live opening monologue from the comfort of his kitchen.

Hanks and his wife were quarantined in Australia following their diagnosis but have since recovered and come back home to the United States.

Saturday’s edition of the show is the first which will be filmed from homes of the cast members due to the social distancing and stay at home orders which many US states are issuing in order to combat the spread of the coronavirus.

Fans loved seeing Tom Hanks on SNL

Hanks cracked jokes about his appearance, laughing about his shaved head which he says is for a role and not due to the virus.

We beg you to find us someone who wasn’t completely enamored with Hanks on Saturday Night Live … we’ll wait.
