Fifth Round

Atlanta does not have a fifth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. This is because they traded the No. 157 overall pick to the Baltimore Ravens in the trade for tight end Hayden Hurst. Atlanta also gave up its second second-round pick, No. 55 overall, in exchange for Hurst. The Falcons got this pick originally from the New England Patriots in a deal for wide receiver Mohamed Sanu.

Sixth Round

Atlanta does not have a sixth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. This is because they traded this pick and linebacker Duke Riley to the Philadelphia Eagles for safety Johnathan Cyprien and a seventh-round pick. Philadelphia netted this No. 228 overall pick in a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers involving wide receiver DeSean Jackson and a 2019 sixth-round pick.

Seventh Round

This is the pick Atlanta received from the Eagles via the Buccaneers. The Falcons don’t have their own seventh-round pick (No. 230 overall) because they traded it to the Patriots for safety Jordan Richards. Speaking of safeties, this is what the Falcons will use this No. 228 pick in the seventh round on by taking Eric Lee Jr. out of the University of Nebraska.

Overall, Atlanta is a better team defensively by addressing the defensive front-seven with back-to-back selections with its first two picks. Though they solve some issues in the secondary in later rounds and offensive skill positions in the middle rounds, not being able to address the interior of the offensive line could come back to haunt the Dirty Birds should injuries happen.
