4th round

123. player. 834. . EDGE. Hurricanes . Jonathan Garvin

The Cowboys have preferred to take the “low-risk, high-upside” approach to pass rushers this offseason and outside of Chase Young, there really aren’t many edge players in this draft whom you can pencil in as an immediate impact player.

As a result, targeting elite athletic profiles in later rounds may be the best solution in the hopes that the Dallas coaching staff can turn one of them into a gem.

That approach is how the Cowboys land former Hurricane Jonathan Garvin in round four. Garvin is an explosive athlete for his size (36.0-inch vertical jump) with great length (34-inch arms) and great bend around the edge.

Things never quite clicked for Garvin in college as his production didn’t match his elite athletic traits. His floor might be lower than some of the other edge rushers in the class but you love to get a guy with his ceiling in the fourth round.
