Miami Dolphins 2020 NFL schedule: 5 must-win games
By Matt Conner
Home: Jacksonville Jaguars
If any team looks like they’re ready to Tank for Trevor (or whatever the mantra will be for teams losing so they can draft Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence at No. 1 overall a year from now), the Jacksonville Jaguars look the part. They’ve traded cornerback A.J. Bouye and defensive end Calais Campbell for mid-round picks. They’ve made middling moves in efforts (Rashaan Melvin, Al Woods) to replace them and the offense looks rather stale by league standards.
Other than the Bengals, this is the easiest-looking game on the Miami Dolphins calendar for the 2020 season. The Dolphins allowed every single opponent to generate at least 300 offensive yards or more in every game in 2019. Minshew Mania might move the facial hair charts, but this is a real chance for the new-look Dolphins to make a defensive statement.
Doug Marrone was already on the hot seat and it’s hard to see how he can remotely keep his job after the 2020 season. The Jags ranked No. 26 on offense last year and the only significant import this year so far is Tyler Eifert, an oft-injured tight end from the Bengals. Watch for the Dolphins pass rush to put up their best statistical effort of the year in this game.
