4. Joey Bosa won’t get double-digit sacks

Bosa’s status as one of the most talented edge rushers in the NFL isn’t going to change in 2020. His sack production will though. The former Ohio State star isn’t going to notch double-digit sacks this season.

The reality is that Bosa won’t get the quantity of pass rushes required to reach that plateau. The Chargers are going to be playing from behind a lot. That means opponent will run the ball more and more against Los Angeles as the games wear on.

More rushing attempts equal less chances for Bosa to do what he does best. He’ll still be an effective pass rusher on obvious passing downs, there just won’t be enough of him to showcase his best skills. It will be a very frustrating season for Bosa.

In the end, look for Los Angeles to shut him down for a few games to make sure he doesn’t get too beaten up in a season where success isn’t a real possibility. He’ll play too few games to get the sort of sack total he would like.
