5. player. 31. . Offensive Tackle. New York Giants. Jedrick Wills Jr.

The New York Giants move back one spot in our latest 2020 NFL mock draft, and have now added a late first round pick to the mix as well. Sitting at No. 5 overall, they can still have their pick of the class in terms of bringing in an offensive tackle, and they get a good one here in Jedrick Wills from Alabama.

New York spent early picks on the offensive side of the ball to bring in playmakers over the last two drafts, adding running back Saquon Barkley in 2018, and then quarterback Daniel Jones last April. In Wills, they get the cornerstone left tackle that this franchise has been lacking, and in turn, they move Nate Solder to the right side.

Sure, the Giants have serious needs on defense, as the unit as a whole was absolutely terrible last season. However, they have invested too much in both Jones and Barkley by selecting them so high, and to not bring in an elite offensive linemen would be a mistake this early in round one.

6. player. 13. . Quarterback. Los Angeles Chargers. Justin Herbert

The Los Angeles Chargers currently have Tyrod Taylor atop the depth chart at quarterback, and they have made it known that they like what he can do at the position. While that may be pandering to enable them to sneak and get the quarterback they want in the 2020 NFL Draft, he does have starting experience.

However, with the Chargers moving into a new building, and having to replace a legend in Philip Rivers, I do not believe they stand pat at the position. At pick No. 6 overall, the Chargers should look to add their future at the position, drafting Oregon star Justin Herbert, who may be the most NFL-ready quarterback in the draft.

HErbert started four seasons for the Ducks, and finished up his collegiate career by leading the team to a victory in the Rose Bowl. He has everything you look for in a starting quarterback, and in Los Angeles, he could step in on Day 1 and be the next star under center for the franchise.
