Atlanta Falcons: 5 players worth trading up for in 2020 NFL Draft
By John Buhler
Going after a player like defensive lineman Javon Kinlaw would make sense for the Falcons for the reasons obviously stated. Quinn and Muschamp are coaching buddies and Quinn loves guys with high character, especially ones who can get after the passer. However, trading up for a defensive lineman feels too much too soon like Atlanta going up to get Takkarist McKinley three years ago.
If Atlanta ends up moving up from No. 16, the player that makes the most sense would be to get cornerback C.J. Henderson out of the University of Florida. Like Kinlaw, Henderson has climbed up draft boards of late. While he’s not pushing top-10 draft status like Kinlaw might be, Henderson might be off the board before Atlanta picks at No. 16. Moving up a few spots only helps here.
As with the potential move up to get Kinlaw, the San Francisco 49ers seem like a solid trade partner for the Falcons here. Henderson should be available for the Falcons to draft him at a slightly premium at No. 13. Again, going somewhere in the late teens is where Henderson should be going, but Atlanta may not want to take any chances.

Simply put, the Falcons shouldn’t trust the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Denver Broncos picking directly ahead of them at No. 14 and No. 15, respectively. Another potential trade partner could be the Las Vegas Raiders. The Silver and Black have two first-round picks and may entertain moving back a tad from No. 12 if they get the right offer from a team like the Falcons.
