4. WR Corey Davis

He was the fifth overall pick in the draft in the 2017 NFL Draft. That was a bit of a surprise to some, but wide receiver Corey Davis from Western Michigan and was one of the hot names leading up to the three-day process. And the Tennessee Titans were in dire need of some help at the position.

The three-year resume for the 25-year-old performer isn’t overly impressive. A total of 42 regular-season contests shows 142 receptions for 1,867 yards and six scores. Compare that to the record-setting exploits of New Orleans Saints’ wide receiver Michael Thomas this past season. The 2019 NFL Offensive Player of the Year finished with a league-record 149 catches, good for 1,725 yards and nine touchdowns.

To his credit, Davis does have an additional 15 receptions for 166 yards and three touchdowns in five postseason games. But he comes off a year in which he finished second on Mike Vrabel’s club with 43 grabs, good for 601 yards and a pair of TDs. And he took back seat to 2019 second-round draft choice A.J. Brown, who led the club with 52 catches, 1,051 receiving yards and eight scores. However, don’t be surprised if Davis benefits more in 2020 from the presence of Brown and puts up some substantial numbers – especially when it comes to reaching the end zone.
