2. Chase Young will lead the team in sacks

Finding another edge rusher isn’t a big need for the Redskins in the draft. They still aren’t going to pass up on a pass rusher of Young’s caliber with the No. 2 overall pick.

His talent is just going to be too tempting for Rivera to resist. That means Young will walk right into a good Redskins defensive front with the ability to make it great. Rivera is going to see a lot of Julius Peppers when he watches Young’s collegiate film.

Young will give the Redskins three edge rushers with the potential to notch double-digit sacks on the season. Despite his youth and inexperience, Young is still going to get to the opposing quarterback more than Sweat or Ioannidis.

Don’t be surprised if he finds a way to rack up 12.5 sacks or more during his rookie season. This prediction isn’t quite that strong though. The call here is that Young will lead Washington in sacks during the 2020 season. The scary part of the prediction is that will just be a sign of him scratching the surface of his enormous potential.
