WWE is making a lot of budget-sensitive moves across the company, and started announcing several talent releases on Wednesday.

It looks like it’s going to be a busy day across WWE, as several main roster releases have been announced. It is part of the company’s budget-cutting measures, that were forced as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. They are making cuts around the entire company, and it is not going to be limited to just the active members of the roster.

Here are the notable releases who we know have been released as of now:

  • EC3

Gallows and Anderson are two of the biggest names on the list, as they were prominently featured as part of The O.C. faction with AJ Styles. Another big name is Fit Finlay, who was extremely essential in training a number of the women in WWE. He was a big part of the women’s division getting transformed into what you see today.

Several of these are also backstage producers and agents, but are also well-known around the wrestling community and to the WWE Universe. More cuts are expected throughout the day and possibly through the end of the week.

WWE has been hit hard by the ongoing situation in the country. And while they’ve been given clearance by the state of Florida to continue running live events, they’re still taking losses on the business side of things. Drake Maverick, one of the superstars released, went to his Twitter page to release an emotional video regarding his thoughts on his release.

The company has wished everyone well on their future endeavors, the usual statement after releasing a talent. Hopefully everyone will be able to stay on their feet and things will be back to normal soon.

As noted, more releases could be expected this week. So definitely keep your eyes open, and we’ll have that information as it becomes available.
