7. Frank Clark

If Anthony Hitchens is the quarterback of the Chiefs defense, Frank Clark is the heartbeat. Kansas City traded for Clark from the Seattle Seahawks and paid a handsome sum to acquire him. The Chiefs sent Seattle a 2019 first-round pick, a 2020 second-round pick and the two teams also swapped 2019 third-round picks.

Once Clark was a Chief, Kansas City gave him a five-year, $105.5 million deal.

As the remade 2019 Chiefs defense learned to play together, the early returns on the Clark trade were not great. Through Kansas City’s first six games, Clark had only one sack and seven tackles. Then Clark got healthy after dealing with shoulder and neck ailmentsClark finished the regular season with seven sacks in his last eight games. He was even better in the playoffs, delivering five sacks in three games.

Oh yeah, he also helped deliver a championship.
