1. Saquon Barkley will lead the NFL in yards

There are valid questions to be asked about the value of running backs in the modern NFL. There are not, however, valid questions about Barkley’s status as one of the best backs in the game. There isn’t anything a running back should be asked to do that he can’t execute at a high level.

Originally, this prediction was going to be that Barkley would lead the NFL in rushing. That’s not good enough for a player of his quality. He’s going to lead the league in yards from scrimmage.

He rushed for just over 1,000 yards in just 13 games last year. Add in the 438 receiving yards he contributed and it’s easy to see just how important he is to the Giants offense. He’s the first name on every defense’s scouting report.

Next. Franchising Leonard Williams is a sign of Giants' ineptitude. dark

If the Giants can find more weapons to take the focus off him he should be able to play with even more efficiency. If that happens, Barkley will be in line for an MVP level season. He may not get the award because of the team’s win/loss record, but it won’t take away from his on-field brilliance. Barkley is in for a massive year in the Big Apple.
