4. LG/C James Daniels

After playing center in college at Iowa, Daniels played left guard as a rookie for the Bears (16 games-10 starts). He was moved back to center to start last year, swapping spots with Cody Whitehair, before a switch back was made mid-season.

The Bears signed Germain Ifedi to theoretically take over for the retired Kyle Long at right guard, though a draft pick could easily enter the mix there. Wherever Daniels plays, which seems likely to be left guard at this point, Pro Football Focus likes his potential.

"Daniels earned a 63.2 overall grade at center, which would have been good for 22nd out of 37 qualifiers at the position. Meanwhile, his 73.9 grade at left guard would have ranked fifth among 39 qualifiers. It remains to be seen how the Bears use Daniels in 2020, but it’s clear that he performed better at guard. As talented as he is at just 22 years old, another season with position continuity could have Daniels poised to break out."

Through his ups and downs, Daniels posted the Bears’ third-highest offensive grade from PFF last year (70.3). Staying at one position, barring an injury-forced change, should foster an easy breakout in his third NFL season.
