Los Angeles Rams 2020 mock draft: Full 7 rounds
By Conor Dorney
2nd round
The Rams’ loss of Corey Littleton and Dante Fowler Jr. in free agency put linebacker high on the list of targets once L.A. is on the clock in the second round. One potential fit is LSU’s Patrick Queen.
Queen has been talked about as a potential first-round pick, but ultimately I think he falls somewhere in this range, where new defensive coordinator Brandon Staley adds his sideline-to-sideline athleticism and coverage abilities into the fold.
Running back or wide receiver is another option with Queen’s teammate, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, being a potential fit.
As a former quarterback, Staley has talked about valuing players who are able to see the entire field and understand the complexities of an opposing offense.
Those statements could be why former safety turned linebacker Logan Wilson would be high on the Rams’ list of potential targets at the position.
Wilson does an excellent job seeing the entire field and using his instincts as a former defensive back to be an asset in coverage. Those playmaking abilities could see him picked towards the end of the second round as the Rams continue to build the second level of their defense.
