5th round

If there are dues to be paid for a Hakeem Adeniji fan club, I’m ready to pay them.

Adeniji was a four-year starter at left tackle for the Jayhawks and even though he projects to guard at the next level, I think he has the chance to be a really good player.

Adeniji has good strength at the point of attack and always seems to be calm, cool and collected for whatever opposing pass rushers throw at him. I don’t expect him to necessarily last until the fifth round, but after trades down the board, I think he’ll be high on the Niners’ list of targets on the offensive line.

818. . CB. Huskies . Myles Bryant. 177. player

Myles Bryant is the type of player who you always hated playing against in pickup basketball. You may have him by half a foot and 50 pounds, but he always plays with a tenacity and intensity as if he’s in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.

After adding an outside corner in Henderson in round one, San Francisco could look to pair him with a slot/nickel player on Day 3. Bryant could very well be that guy.

6th round

It’s a good thing the 49ers already have the best tight end in the NFL because if you’re looking for a difference-maker at the position in this draft, you’ll have trouble finding it.

Day 3 will be full of interesting, heavy-projection players at tight end, but one with perhaps the highest floor is Virginia Tech’s Dalton Keene.

Keene was deployed in a ton of ways in the Hokies’ offense and that versatility, with plus athleticism, could be an appealing fit for Kyle Shanahan in the San Francisco offense.

7th round

840. . WR. Gators . Tyrie Cleveland. 218. player

Tyrie Cleveland is big and fast, a favorite combo of Kyle Shanahan (and most NFL coaches). The number of picks the Niners accumulate after trades will have a lot to do with when they take a receiver, but the former Gator makes sense in round seven.

player. 807. . LB. Fighting Illini . Dele Harding. 246

Harding exploded onto the Big Ten scene in 2019 with 149 tackles, including 14.0 tackles for loss and three interceptions.

The traits are intriguing, but only one year of production pushes him to round seven, where the Niners see him as a fit for depth at linebacker and on special teams.
