1. Jeremy Chinn, Safety, Southern Illinois

Southern Illinois Saluki Jeremy Chinn has enjoyed the 2020 NFL Draft process a ton. His rise throughout the process is among the best in the class. Chinn got an invite to the Senior Bowl and made the most of that opportunity. From the moment he stepped on to the field, Chinn looked the part of a top prospect. He showed off his movement skills and ball skills throughout the week and left a big winner.

Chinn dominated at the scouting combine, posting a perfect 10 RAS at the safety position. At 6-foot-3 and 221 pounds, Chinn ran a 4.45 40 yard dash and posted elite explosion numbers with a vertical jump of 41 inches and a broad jump of 11-feet-6 inches. Those numbers were off the charts.

As a prospect, Chinn brings a ton to the table. His range on the back end is up there with the top players in the safety class, and he tracks the ball well and has great ball skills. Chinn brings some versatility to the position, and can play both single high and near the box. He’s still a little raw and needs to work on speeding up his processing, but the upside warrants an early day two selection.
