OT. Houston. Josh Jones. player. 60. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. 25

As one of the few teams with multiple first-round picks, the Vikings are in a great position to address needs on both sides of the ball. In this scenario, the team can nab an offensive tackle which is a glaring need right now.

Left tackle Riley Reiff is 31 years old. Minnesota will want to find a replacement soon, and that maybe Houston’s Josh Jones. He has the capability to be a swing tackle for the time being as well, or he can battle with Brian O’Neill for the other starter role.

With the Cougars, Jones stepped into the starting left tackle spot for all 13 games as a redshirt freshman. He started 10 games at left tackle as a sophomore and all 13 games as a junior. In his final season, Jones was named Second-Team all-conference despite only starting the team’s first nine games. Jones missed the rest of the season due to a knee injury.

Jones is still a bit raw and underdeveloped, but he can play a swing tackle role already. Learning from Reiff in Minnesota would be a best-case scenario for this prospect.
