2020 NFL mock draft: C.J. Henderson, Jordan Love to Raiders
The Carolina Panthers are entering a new era with Matt Rhule and Marty Hurney as the power duo. With Cam Newton gone but Teddy Bridgewater in, a quarterback is off the table. Carolina could go with an offensive tackle, although Russell Okung makes that a lesser need.
All this leads to fixing one of the league’s worst front seven. With Isaiah Simmons gone, Derrick Brown makes the most sense. He’s dominant inside, playing with power against the run and agility against the pass. He’s the best player on the board here, and could be the linchpin for a much-improved defensive line in 2020.
This is simple. Whoever the Arizona Cardinals believe is the best-available left tackle on the board is getting drafted right here.
Arizona has done a nice job this offseason. The Cardinals essentially stole DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans and a confused Bill O’Brien. They also added Jordan Phillips, who led all AFC interior defensive linemen with 9.5 sacks last season. Now, they desperately need to fix the offensive line.
Wills and Wirfs are the best tackles in the draft, and with Wirfs going to the Chargers, Wills it is. Arizona can plug him into the lineup and give second-year quarterback Kyler Murray blindside protection for a decade.
