13. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Alabama. Henry Ruggs. WR. player. 42

The San Francisco 49ers were minutes away from their first Super Bowl win since the 1994 season. However, the team made some changes this offseason, trading defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to the Indianapolis Colts for this selection, while also watching receiver Emmanuel Sanders leave in free agency for the New Orleans Saints.

General manager John Lynch needs to find a speedster on the perimeter for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, and Ruggs is the perfect fit. The Alabama standout ran a 4.27 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine and showed elite athleticism with the Crimson Tide, starring alongside Jerry Jeudy. This is a home run for the 49ers.

Pick Analysis. OT. Louisville. 48. Scouting Report. Mekhi Becton. 14. player

It’s hard to imagine general manager Jason Licht not sprinting to the virtual podium here. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are having a dream offseason after landing Tom Brady, and now need to upgrade their offensive line. With Becton falling all the way to 14th-overall, Tampa Bay would be borderline insane to pass on him here.

If the Buccaneers don’t go with Becton here, it would need to be for defensive help. Still, defensive coordinator Todd Bowles had his unit playing well down the stretch, easing the front office’s burden to give him more help. Becton would slide in as an immediate starter opposite Donovan Smith and give the Bucs a nice tandem on the edges.
