3. Jake Fromm, QB, Georgia

There are benefits to playing in the SEC, to be sure. But, a significant negative is that even when you’re really good, you often get overshadowed by some other-worldly talents.

That’s the story on Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm. Teams put a lot of stock in recent film and forget that just two years ago Fromm was a top-10 prospect. Despite starting for three seasons for an SEC powerhouse, Fromm has just not gotten the love that other quarterbacks have.

In 2017, true freshman Fromm stepped in for an injured Jacob Eason, and all he did was throw 24 touchdown passes to only seven interceptions, win SEC Freshman of the Year and lead Georgia to the national championship game.

In 2018, Fromm started every game for Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs, while ranking 5th in quarterback efficiency across all of college football. He was the offensive MVP for Georgia that year and a finalist for the Manning Award. Fromm again started every game in 2019 for Georgia, too.

He compares similarly to Brady in that he understands the game and plays it at a pro-level, but lacks the physical and athletic attributes that evaluators crave at draft time.

If Fromm makes it to Day 3, he’s going to be a steal for someone with a year or two to season him.
