2020 NFL Mock Draft: Tua Tagovailoa goes to the Colts
By Conor Dorney
*projected trade w/ Cleveland*
The Falcons trade up and lean on their connections to South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp to land former Gamecock Javon Kinlaw. Kinlaw has one of the highest ceilings of any defensive prospects in the class and would look great alongside Grady Jarrett.
Pick from the alternate universe: CJ Henderson
*projected trade w/ NY Jets*
Philadelphia strikes a deal with its former VP of Player Personnel Joe Douglas and lands a desperately-needed weapon in the passing game for Carson Wentz. Jefferson has some of the most helium of any wide receiver in the class and surprises many as the first off the board at the position.
Pick from the alternate universe: CeeDee Lamb
The Raiders missed out on Byron Jones in free agency and had a deal with Eli Apple fall through at the last minute, which makes cornerback a top priority. Mike Mayock and Jon Gruden would be thrilled to land a top-flight cover corner here with the team’s first pick in round one.
Pick from the alternate universe: Denzel Mims
The idea of CeeDee Lamb and Deebo Samuel together in a Kyle Shanahan offense is a scary thought for opposing defenses in the NFC. Henry Ruggs III is an option here but truthfully it’s really, really tough to find fits for the receivers in this class so I’ll go with Lamb to San Francisco for his route savvy and ability to make people miss after the catch.
Pick from the alternate universe: Henry Ruggs III
Another team thrilled with the way the draft has played out, the Bucs rush to the virtual podium for Alabama’s Jedrick Wills. Tampa tasks the former Crimson Tide standout with protecting the GOAT at right tackle.
Pick from the alternate universe: Andrew Thomas
