AFC. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. South. Jacksonville Jaguars. 3. player. 52

The Jaguars are an interesting possible landing spot for Ford.

While the 49ers are looking to ship out Ford, the Jaguars are also working on trading their star defensive end Yannick Ngakoue at the same time. With San Francisco’s desire to shed salary and add draft picks, a switch for the two pass-rushers may not be in order. However, if the Jags secure a trade for Ngakoue, they may look to fill the hole that leaves with another veteran like Ford.

Jacksonville owns 12 picks in this weekend’s draft and could easily sacrifice that capital, even multiple Day 3 picks, to acquire Ford. The salary, too, is digestible to the Jaguars, as the salary was never the issue with Ngakoue. It was just his desire to not be on the team.

As a scheme fit, this makes a lot of sense. Ford is at his best when he can pin his ears back and go after the quarterback, much like Ngakoue. There is every reason to believe that, if he can stay healthy, he can return to first-round form in Jacksonville.
