Scouting Report. Miami Dolphins. 2. player. 59. Pick Analysis. AFC. East

Another team with a need at pass rusher, who has plenty of cap space, and plenty of draft picks? The Dolphins.

Seemingly linked to every plausible trade scenario, the Dolphins not only own nine first and second-round picks over the next two drafts, but they also own nine Day 3 picks in the 2020 draft. In terms of a bidding war, Miami could beat out any team it wants to; and may be willing to give a third and a fifth, or similar, for Ford.

Ford is a good fit with Miami scheme-wise, and would likely relish being among the team’s most seasoned veterans – putting him in to a leadership role that he developed at Auburn, but never really had a chance to utilize with Kansas City or San Francisco. Both of whom had significantly better leaders on their defensive rosters.

The Dolphins have plenty of cap space to absorb Ford’s remaining four years and $60 million or so left on his contract. This could be a great steal for a rebuilding Dolphins team who is going to get younger and more talented in the next two years.
