1. Michael Thomas won’t catch 100 passes

Michael Thomas’ 2019 campaign was nothing short of sensational. Any wide receiver who manages to catch 149 passes in a single season deserves to be considered great.

That doesn’t mean he will repeat the feat in 2020. The additions of Sanders and another rookie wide receiver will understandably cut down on Thomas’ target share. He’ll still have a huge role in the offense, but his workload will decrease dramatically.

Admittedly, expecting his total to drop from 149 to under 100 requires more than just a modest loss in target share. It’s also unlikely that Thomas can enjoy the same health in 2020 as he did in 2019. He’s a big-bodied wideout who puts his body on the line to make catches over the middle. That gives defensive backs too many opportunities to take shots at him when he’s in compromising positions.

Thomas is arguably the most talented wide receiver in the NFL. A dip in his production this season won’t change that. It’s still a distinct possibility though. A drop-off after a historically great season is always a solid bet.
