2. WR J.J. Arcega-Whiteside

Wide receiver for the Eagles was literally a sore subject in 2019. Injuries were a major factor when it came to player such as Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor (now a member of the Las Vegas Raiders). And that’s why it’s somewhat amazing that quarterback Carson Wentz managed to throw for 4,039 yards without the benefit of a wideout totaling at least 500 receiving yards this past season.

The Birds’ top pass-catching performers in 2019 were tight ends Zach Ertz (88) and Dallas Goedert (58) and rookie running back Miles Sanders (50). The trio finished with 916, 607 and 509 receiving yards, respectively, and the three performer combined for 14 of Wentz’s 27 scores through the air.

Jeffery finished fourth on the club with 43 grabs, good for 490 yards and four touchdowns in his 10 appearances. With Agholor moving on and veteran DeSean Jackson coming off an injury-marred year, 2019 second-round pick J.J. Arcega-Whiteside needs to raise his game. He was targeted 22 times this past season and totaled only 10 grabs for 169 yards and one score. He did not catch a pass in the playoff loss to Seattle and looks to show some of the ability he flashed last preseason.
