1. CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys

The Cowboys did the right thing by eschewing their defensive needs to grab CeeDee Lamb with the No. 17 pick. Getting the best receiver in the class at that spot in the draft was a huge win for Jerry Jones and his front office who never thought the former Oklahoma receiver would be available for them at 17. It was a no-brainer to take him and arguably the steal of the draft.

Lamb will serve as a massive upgrade over what Randall Cobb gave the Dallas offense in 2019. Lining him up in the slot along with Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup is almost unfair for opposing defenses. The former Oklahoma star is going to benefit from facing a lot of single coverage during his rookie season.

He may not be an elite athlete, but Lamb’s ability to produce yards after the catch will make him a star at the next level. He should quickly blossom into one of Dak Prescott’s favorite weapons. Any receiver who can turn a five-yard out into an 80-yard touchdown is a welcome addition for any quarterback.

The Cowboys get extra points for making sure the Eagles weren’t the beneficiary of Lamb’s slide. Losing him to an NFC East rival would have been painful. Instead, he’ll be helping them win division games for years to come. Lamb to the Cowboys is the steal of the 2020 NFL Draft.
