Will the Packers trade Aaron Rodgers? These 5 teams should send a trade offer ASAP
3. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers look set at quarterback with Tyrod Taylor and Justin Herbert coming in via the sixth overall pick in the draft. Head coach Anthony Lynn has even suggested Taylor will be more than a bridge signal-caller, but that was before the selection of Herbert.
The Chargers were in on the Tom Brady sweepstakes right to the end, before he ultimately chose to stay east with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The professed commitment to Taylor only came after Brady landed elsewhere, so if there’s a veteran upgrade available out there it may be entertained. If not for his injury questions and the inability for team doctors to check him out this offseason, Cam Newton might be a Charger. Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton also linger as possible options.
Rodgers would be the kind of star power the Chargers need as they move into the Rams’ new stadium this year, which was a sure-fire factor in their pursuit of Brady. The plethora of weapons there stands out too (Keenan Allen, Hunter Henry, Austin Ekeler, Mike Williams), as the Packers chose to pass on drafting a wide receiver in the first round this year. Rodgers is literally the last offensive skill position player they drafted in the opening round of the draft.
