Late round WR

Randall Cobb, HOU

The two Texans trades this offseason shook up the depth chart. They traded away DeAndre Hopkins and brought in Brandin Cooks to join Will Fuller and Kenny Stills. But what about Cobb? Well, there may be hope for him come week 1.

Aaron Reiss of the Athletic (subscription required) suggests that Stills and Keke Coutee could play for another team this season. While Coutee is also on the bench, trading away Stills would open up playing time for Cobb. Then again, having David Johnson as the running back means this team will be a pass-first team. Cobb caught 55 passes for 828 yards and three scores. That’s 155.8 fantasy points in PPR leagues.

DaeSean Hamilton, DEN

The Broncos head into this season with Drew Lock under center. They likely won’t use their No. 15 pick on a quarterback. However, Woody Paige of The Colorado Springs Gazette believes the team trades up to draft Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy.

If that does happen, that moves Hamilton from the No. 2 spot opposite of Courtland Sutton to the slot or even the bench. However, there is no certainty that’s the route the Broncos go in the draft. The addition of Melvin Gordon along with Phillip Lindsay make the Broncos more of a running team but Hamilton can break off big chunks of yards.

Marquise Goodwin, SF

Losing Emmanuel Sanders opens up the passing game a bit but for who? They still have Deebo Samuel, Kendrick Bourne and Dante Pettis. According to ESPN, Goodwin is listed as a backup receiver. Why would fantasy football owners want to draft a backup wide receiver?

Well, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports tweeted that the 49ers are actively shopping Goodwin. Whether a trade happens on during the draft or before week one is irrelevant. What is relevant, however, is what team Goodwin would be traded to. There are a few teams that could use a receiver but some of those teams struggle in the passing game. He’s someone worth monitoring throughout the offseason.
