NFL Draft 2020: Let’s predict where the top running backs will get selected
The Jaguars are rolling the dice with Gardner Minshew as their starting quarterback in 2020. Only time will tell if that was the right call, but they can give him some more help. Utah’s Zack Moss should be available in this slot, and Jacksonville could slide him into the lineup right behind Leonard Fournette.
Last year, Fournette had over 1,000 yards, but the team’s next leading rusher was Minshew with 344 yards. Backup running backs Ryquell Armstead and Devine Ozigbo combined for less than 150 yards. A drastic upgrade is needed, and Moss can provide it.
At Utah, Moss started 12 of 13 games played and earned third-team Associated Press All-American and first-team all-conference honors this past year. He was one of college football’s top rushers in 2019 with 1,416 yards and 15 touchdowns. Moss was a threat in the passing game too, with 388 yards and two touchdowns.
A cousin to former NFL wide receiver Santana Moss, Zack will know what it takes to succeed in the league, and he should have a long productive career. If he falls into this range, the Jacksonville Jaguars shouldn’t hesitate to jump on the running back as a great compliment to Fournette on their offense.
